Juginder Lamba's The Cry in the Bluecoat garden, Trophies of Empire exhibition

Trophies of Empire was a commission series made in response to the Columbus Quincentenary, in which artists explored legacies of colonialism and imperialism and their imprint in three UK ports, Liverpool, Bristol and Hull. At Bluecoat, Paul Clarkson, Rita Keegan, Shaheen Merali, South Atlantic Souvenirs & Trouble, Veena Stephenson, Verbal Images and Visual Stress were part of the exhibition and performance programme. Keith Piper, who initiated the project, showed a video installation at Merseyside Maritime Museum. Juginder Lamba's The Cry sculpture was installed in the Bluecoat garden, as well as in the garden of Wilberforce House in Hull.
