Angie Hiesl Produktion: The making of TWINS - how do I know I am me, 2009

Here, Angie Hiesl talks about the project and the ideas that informed it. Resonating with themes such as human cloning and the identity of the individual, TWINS – how do I know I am me... elevated everyday interactions into something extraordinary. The work, involving five pairs of twins – two from Liverpool, three from Germany - was presented against the raw industrial backdrop of the Furnace at the A Foundation (now the Camp & Furnace) in Liverpool on 3 and 4 July, 2009. Filmed documentation of the full performance is also available on this site. Performers/Twins: Emma & Katy Davies (UK), Alessandra & Viviana Defazio (Germany), Lisa & Rebecca Doughty (UK), Diana & Sandra Miller (Germany), Mursal & Zohal Wahabzadah (Germany).
