Poster for the exhibition, An Honest Patron: a Tribute to Sir Edward Marsh

An exhibition bringing together work that was once owned by art patron, Sir Edward Marsh, 1872-1953, who was Churchill's private secretary. Curated by Bluecoat Gallery Director Barbara Putt and sponsored by the Liverpool Daily Post, it included leading British artists from the first half of the 20th century, including David Bomberg, John Currie, Mark Gertler, Duncan Grant, Ivon Hitchens, Harold Lamb, John Nash, Paul Nash, John Piper, Isaac Rosenberg, Stanley Spencer, Graham Sutherland and Christopher Wood.
